Technical facilities
As a technology focused university we can offer an impressive range of laboratories, workshops and specialised equipment that your business can access for a range of activities, including experimental work, testing prototypes, data analysis or training purposes.
Our facilities are fully supported by expert technicians and specialist members of staff who can assist your use of the equipment and help you with the outcomes, including interpretation of the results.

Research Park
We created the Heriot-Watt Research Park in line with our commitment to active collaboration with industry, enabling companies to establish their own research and development groups within our Edinburgh Campus.
Our aim is to provide the best possible location for both established and new companies to undertake the development of new products, processes and services, through immediate access to all of the University's staff and facilities.
The emphasis at the Park is on research, development, design, engineering, training, and prototyping activities leading to manufacture.
There are over 30 companies currently based at the Research Park encompassing a wide range of sectors from pharmaceutical development to safety and transportation, and laser technology application to environmental protection.
