Job description

An opportunity has arisen in the School of Textiles and Design based in Galashiels, to join a small team in a busy and vibrant environment facilitating both Under Graduate and Post Graduate Textiles students in producing unique woven textiles to a very high standard.

You will have experience in the broader woven textile industry or be educated to degree level.  Ideally you will have mechanical knowledge allowing you to carry out repairs and maintenance to Jacquard and dobby looms; a creative and flexible approach to problem solving; an ability to communicate knowledge to others and  basic computers skills. 

Hours are 3 days per week during semester time plus additional hours spread over the year making up a 0.5 contract.

Interview will be held week beginning the 9th September.
