LEADS - Course Content

 

The LEADS suite of courses, delivered by Academic Enhancement, are designed to develop basic teaching skills across the varied subject areas of Heriot-Watt University.

The course is delivered in three stages which are aligned with the level of teaching and student support that would normally be expected of a Laboratory/Tutorial Assistant (LEADS 1), Approved Tutor (LEADS 1 and 2) or Approved Teacher (LEADS 1, 2 and 3).

The series of linked sessions enables the tutor or new teacher to develop essential skills for effective learning and teaching. It is aligned with the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and Supporting Learning in Higher Education Level 1, and is accredited by the Higher Education Academy. Participants who successfully complete the programme are entitled to apply for Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

 

What does it cost?

This programme is free if you are an employee of Heriot-Watt University or if you are a Heriot-Watt Research student.
